I have been stitching in one form or another since I was 6 years old. I have tried just about everything involving a needle or sewing machine. I was fortunate to be able to retire from my day job as a software/hardware engineer in 2003 when the company I worked for made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. Since then I have branched out into doll making, fiber and paper arts, and teaching: Fabric Collage, Silk ribbon Embroidery, Beading, Bookmaking, and Doll Making. I have taught at Quilt Shops, Doll Clubs, Conferences, and the Embroiderer’s Guild of America.
I have won awards for my knitting, needlework, and dolls ranging from Blue Ribbons at various fairs to awards in national and international contests and challenges such as the Hoffman Challenge. I have also done commissions for people and organizations all over the world.
My work has appeared in the following:
· Periodicals: Quilting Arts, Soft Dolls and Animals, Doll Crafter and Costuming, and Art Doll Quarterly
· On-line Publications: CQMag on line, http://www.caron-net.com
· Books: Better Homes and Gardens Christmas 1997, Creative Cloth Doll Couture by Patti Medaris Culea, 2005
· Publications: I self-publish a variety of Original Doll Patterns.
