3-day class – Lori Platt
Create a Pixie Figure

Intermediate to advanced skill levels welcome.
No pre-class work and no kit.
Instructor will provide a materials list prior to class. You are encouraged to bring your own sculpting tools and possibly a heat gun tool.

The class will be for a figure only, and not the floral part of it. This class will be enjoyable enough for even the seasoned sculptor.
Students will choose to sculpt a boy or girl pixie in polymer clay. Your pixie will be about 8 to 10 inches tall. Learn to build a strong armature and pose your pixie to stand or sit. The body will be built with aluminum foil and you will sculpt arms, hands, legs, and feet. The instructor will show you how to paint, clothe, and apply hair. You will attach glass eyes to the head. A baking oven will be provided in class. Wire, metal tape, aluminum foil, brass tubes, small wooden blocks, wooden skewers are part of the building process. The teacher will show you how to work with mulberry paper or fabrics of your choice to clothe your figure. You will paint and costume your doll on the 3rd day.
